Toward the Interior: Dynamics of Isolation and Engagement places two images side by side, requiring consideration of each environmental allegory. The corporate interiors are eerily beautiful, drawing the viewer into an uneasy alliance with a paradigm of predetermined values, power struggles, and transition. The domestic interiors are more disarming, visually hinting at deterioration, rehabilitation, detachment and the possibility of intimacy. These diptychs create a push and pull effect by contrasting the decision to expend energy developing relationships, either at work or at home, with the intuitive knowledge that relationships require risks and have the potential to destabilize the status quo.
